Athletics

Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene offers a wide variety of athletic ministries to all ages. Our high school regulation basketball and volleyball court and gymnasium provide a perfect environment for indoor athletics. We have been a host gym to an area youth volleyball tournament that includes over 60 gyms in the CSRA. Our wireless LED scoreboard provides game scores and clocks for several sports and the Sport Court flooring is the official floor covering for NCAA volleyball.

Additionally, our athletic field is under development and already gets used for various outdoor sports throughout the year. There are three permanent horse shoe pits set up on one side and several community youth athletic teams use our field to practice each week.

MVCN Athletics holds annual youth basketball and cheerleading leagues with more than 300 players, volunteers and fans actively participating in practices and games each week starting in January.  Award Celebration in the Sanctuary at 11:30 am, Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Adults and teens meet Sunday afternoons for an indoor flag football league which crowns a champion on Super Bowl Sunday.  Then pick-up men's basketball on Sunday afternoon begins.

Our annual Super Bowl party has featured appearances from former NFL stars, football skills competitions for all ages and the game shown on a 20-foot projection screen. Many door prizes are given away in addition to the prizes given to winners of the skills competitions.

Our church’s Mens Softball Team won the South Carolina Nazarene District Tournament this past September and annually makes trips to Ohio to compete in the Nazarene National Softball Tournament.
